Foxx arrived in Los Angeles in 1976 working with The Inner-City Cultural Center, Nick Stewarts Ebony Showcase Theatre, LAAT, and Center Theatre Group before Founding “The Foxx Follies Theatre Work” along with Carl Rafic Bey a Graduate of Howard University. A non-profit 501 c3 Organization founded in the Crenshaw Community, aimed at training the youth in The Community in the Theatre Arts. Providing Acting Classes taught by Industry Professionals. Foxx Follies Theatre Workshop is still in existence.
It was there also that he formed a partnership with Award-winning writer and Author/ Professor Herbert A. Simmons who would become one of his mentors Together they founded Corner Boy Productions and created a Television pilot, based on Simmon’s Award Winning Novel Corner Boy which has been published in several languages which were Directed and Produced by Foxx as a Home Entertainment Video.
Foxx and Simmons formed Corner Boy Productions. Foxx was chosen as Executive in Charge of Production and Entertainment Editor for Turnaround News magazine developing his skills as a Writer and Photographer.
Foxx served as Staff Photographer for The L.A. Watts Times and as a freelance Photojournalist, his Photos have appeared in The L.A. Times, Ebony, and Jet Magazine. He has studied Creative, Writing, and Film Making at L.A. City College. Foxx has appeared on Stage, on Television, in Feature Films, and in Commercials.
